Stage Whatever - Items, stats, better doors, foreboding dread and much more!


This is a somewhat big update.

The following features have been added:

  • r_tnn_residentialDistrict01 was (almost) fully ported to Godot, along with its interior sections. Neat!
  • Time Exists! The game can keep track of time and do time related things like:
    • Time based quest (Wilmer eviction)
    • Know when the Curfew is going to happen (if its before, during or after the curfew).
    • NPCs can spawn in theirs homes when its too late.
  • The quickmenu can fetch the player´s real stats! Level, GLAMP, HP and such are reall and can be checked and changed.
    That being said, It needs work to actually function correctly. The EFFECTIVE Stats ( stats after status effects and equipment modifiers) is nor working.
  • The o_doorlight object was improved greatly. it had many major issues and I was finally fed up with it trowing errors all the time.
    Many more maps were ported
  • You can get items and give them during quests. Items are listed on the quickmenu too!
  • The camera can be "bound" (not being able to see outside the map).

Loads of things were fixed or tweaked:

  • The way a room is loaded changed a bit.
  • Game can save the player position during room transitions and while exiting.
  • Games can be loaded from the title screen!
  • Debug menu was updated with some new functions.
  • Room inicialization was inproved slightly.
  • Issues with the fog were corrected, hopefully.
  • The way Music is played during a room load was improved.
  • Katsu! Nested IF conditions were slopply added to the Cinema system.

Known issues:

  • Besides r_tnn_residentialDistrict01, outside maps are not working correctly.
  • Camera moves a bit slower than expected.
  • Menus can mess with the pause screen.
  • Breakout panel shows the wrong value when subtracting from the player's moneys.
  • The fog shader is still giving me issues, stopping execution out of nowhere.

Next steps:

  • Chillax for a few days.
  • I'm still avoid combat... so:
    • Lets ignore Stats for now
    • Lets ignore Jerkins for now
    • Lets ignore Candies for now ( Need Jerkin to work correctly )
    • Lets ignore Guns for now
  • Buying stuff from menus
  • Fix the other maps
  • Add markers to Maps
  • Fix bugs (duh)
  • Finish Wilmer's quest.
